The Highland County Humane Society is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) voluntary organization and have been serving the citizens and pets since 1969. We are dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our communities and finding new loving homes for the dogs and cats in our care.
The Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter where all incoming animals are evaluated, medically treated and rehabilitated if needed. We are the voice of the animals in Highland County by investigating complaints of animal cruelty. The funding of our organization relies on the good caring and generosity of individuals.

Walk Against Animal Cruelty - Saturday May 18th!
The Highland County Humane Society is having our FIRST Walk Against Animal Cruelty
Fundraising event. It will be on Saturday, May 18th at the Shelter House in Liberty Park, located in Hillsboro. Registration will begin at 9am for a fee of $10 per walker. The walk will begin at 10am. We will take a stroll in Liberty Park and will end back at the Shelter House where we will have raffles, contests and a K9 Demonstration by the Highland County Sheriff's Office and the Greenfield Police Department.
If you would like a "Walk Against Animal Cruelty" T-Shirt, then you must pre-register by May 6th. Pre-Registration Fee is $18, which includes the T-Shirt.
Pre-Registration and Registration forms may be picked up at our Humane Society, located at 9331 State Route 124 (2-1/2 miles east of Hillsboro) You may also print out the form below.
RAFFLES - BEST DOG TRICK CONTEST - BEST DRESSED DOG CONTEST - BIGGEST AND SMALLEST DOG CONTEST - THERE WILL ALSO BE A WINNER FOR WHOEVER RAISES THE MOST MONEY. PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE WANTING TO RAISE THE MOST MONEY, MUST BRING IN TOTAL AMOUNT RAISE BEFORE THE WALK BEGINS.
